Fear?

2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

God does not want you to be full of fear! I think of some of the characters in the Wizard of Oz and all of their fears.

The scarecrow was afraid of fire. The tinman was afraid of rusting. The lion was afraid of everything!

The scarecrow did not have a brain. The tinman did not have a heart. The lion did not have courage. We all are a little like each of them at times.

Think about this: 2 Timothy 1:7 shares that God helps us in each of these areas.

The lion felt powerless. ...but God wants to give us power.
The tinman had no heart. ...but God IS love.
The scarecrow didn't have a brain. ...but God wants to help us know what to think. He gives us a sound (peacefully complete) mind.

When you are afraid, you can pray and ask God to help you and fill you with His power, His love, and His thoughts.
