Jesus told his disciples that he would go away so that he could send God's Spirit in a full way to help each of His followers. The waited for this promise to come true as they praised, worshiped and prayed. You can read about this in Acts 2:1-4.
The Holy Spirit wants to help us to know Jesus better, to know what to do, to be spiritually strong, healthy and sweet. God's Spirit grows fruit in our lives. Read the listing of this fruit in Galatians 5:22,23. All of these things are seen fully in the life of Jesus. ...and when we are full of God's Spirit we too will become more like Jesus.
