B.G.M.C. Bike Day - Where the Rubber Meets the Road

Do not forget that this Sunday all of our grade school aged kids have an opportunity to help people around the world by raising funds for B.G.M.C.!

Bring your bike, or if you need to borrow one, please let me know! Hopefully we have great weather.

We will start the morning with a 45 minute Kids Church service, then go outside for the ride. We will do that at both of our services. Please pray with us that many people will respond and help financially support each child's efforts.

I once heard someone say, "For every dollar given to B.G.M.C., someone in the world comes to know Christ as savior." Can you think of a better way to use a dollar? I can't. Let's do our best to share the love of Jesus with people around the world. One great way to do that is through B.G.M.C.

See ya soon! I'm cheering for you!

Giving An Account

The end of the school year is near: Did you make the grade?
At school, why do the give grades?... teachers need to measure or give an account if you are learning what you should be learning.

"Account" means you kept track of... putting it together... total up the count to reach the deired number.

In Matthew 25:14-30, you may read about the parable of the talents. How a man going on a journey called his three servants and entrusted then each different amount of talents of money. Two out of the three servants went out and double the amount of talents they originally had; however, the third servant did nothing. When the master returned, he was pleased to see how the two servants doubled what he entrusted them. He then replied by saying "Well done, good and faithful servant!". Then the third servant approached his master that was not pleased with the servants lazyness. The third servant was not to celebrate with the other two because he did nothing with what was entrusted upon him.

Just like the parable of the talents, God has entrusted certain things upon each one of us, and it is God that will give an account for the work we are doing.

Here are a few verses to read about giving an account:

Matthew 12:36

Romans 14:12

Hebrews 4:13

Are you giving God your best? If you are, there will be a reward... for you will want to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant".

Matthew 24:44 "...be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

What will Jesus catch you doing? Helping others? praising him? Obeying your parents? Showing respect to leaders? Doing what is right?

Each one of us must give an account...what will the final grade be?

JESUS IS COMING BACK

Since Easter, we have been talking about how Jesus is really real!

In Acts 1:1-11, you may read about Jesus as he stood on the Mount of Olives. Suddenly, he was taken up into the sky and a cloud hid him. I know it sounds crazy, but that's what really happened!

In John 14:2-3, Jesus told his disciples that he would go away. He also said he would come back.

Do you know someone else who has gone away and will be coming back? Do you know when?

In Matthew 24:36-44, Jesus tells about when he will come again. Take some time to look at that. It could be today.

Are you ready?

Springtime is wonderful! I love seeing the plants turn green, the flowers growing, and the animals returning to activity. God's Spirit had a big part in creating all that we can see.

Genesis chapter one tells us all about how God created everything. When we experience the wonder of nature, it inspires us to worship God.

There was a woman that had questions about where the right place was to worship God. Back in Jesus' day, some people said that Jerusalem was the only place to truly worship God. Jesus told her that it doesn't matter where you are, you can worship EVERYWHERE. God's Spirit is everywhere. He is with you wherever you go, and He wants to help you honor Jesus wherever you go and whatever you do! (Read more about Jesus conversation with that woman in John 4.)

Worship is NOT just going to church. Worship is NOT just singing. Worship is giving your whole life over to Jesus. Romans 12:1 says that we should offer our whole selves to God-- wherever we are, whatever we do-- that is our spiritual act of worship! So, throughout your week...keep on honoring Jesus in all you do!

The Spirit Guides

Read Ephesians 3:16-18.

Paul prays that God's Spirit will strengthen your "inner being." He understood that there's more to us than just the outside shell. We are more than just flesh and bone. There is a part of us that cannot be seen, nor measured by natural means. This is more than natural. This is part of the supernatural. It is spiritual.

God desires to help each of us grow strong spiritually. By His Spirit, each of us may receive the daily help we need!

Here's a few verses to read about God's work in your life:

Romans 8:6-7 and 8:13,14

John 14:26

Romans 8:16 & Proverbs 16:9.

Take some time today to pray and invite the Holy Spirit to do his work in you! He wants to help you and guide you so you know what to do!
